Ms. Debora Feeney, FNP

Ms. Debora Feeney, FNP is an integral part of the multidisciplinary care team at the Orthopaedic & Spine Surgery Institute. As an experienced nurse practitioner, she works in parallel with the surgeons to evaluate and treat patients, providing an additional layer of expertise, support and compassion.

Ms. Feeney graduated from Frederick Community College with an Associates Degree in Nursing in 1977 and Board Certified Registered Nurse License. She began her career at Suburban Hospital and was accepted to the Critical Care Course and worked in the Intensive Care and Cardiac Care Unit from 1977 until 1983. She then transitioned to  Washington Hospital Center in Trauma Center and Open Heart and Trauma Intensive Care Unit. She attended The Catholic University of America while working full time and received her Bachelor of Science of Nursing in 1991. She worked in several different departments expanding her experiences at WHC including, Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Transplant Team,  Cardiac Catherization Lab and Cardiac Arrhythmia Lab. She attended Marymount University and graduated in 1999 with her Masters in Science of Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner degree. After becoming Board Certified with National Associate of Nurse Practitioners she joined the Emergency Department at INOVA Hospital. In 2003, she joined the Advanced Orthopedics and Spine Surgery Practice until 2008.  She then pursued a primary care position at Minute Clinic Urgent Care from 2008 until 2014 before being recruited to join Orthopaedic & Spine Surgery Institute in 2014.

She has two grown sons and has lived in Virginia for over 32 years. She loves gardening and DIY projects in her leisure time, and she is excellent at home improvement projects.

Family Nurse Practitioners are certified and licensed medical professionals who perform a wide range of services, including conducting physical exams, diagnosing conditions and developing treatment plans, prescribing medication and administering injections. Nurse practitioners care for patients both at the office and at the hospital. As an advanced practitioner she offers patient-centered, expert care in the following areas:

  • Assessing your medical history.
  • Performing physical examinations.
  • Ordering and interpreting tests.
  • Prescribing medications.
  • Coordinating conservative treatments.
  • Assisting with postsurgical care.
  • Providing health and wellness counseling to you and your family.
  • Providing spinal orthotics and therapeutic injections to improve your quality of life.
  • Addressing and treating side effects of treatment.

Ms. Feeney is certified by the National Family Nurse Practitioners and  licensed by the Virginia Board of Medicine.  

Ms. Feeney specializes in geriatric and fragility spinal fractures. She is proficient in therapeutic and diagnostic injections and has extensive experience in conservative treatment of spinal disorders.
