I highly recommend this practice, especially Dr. Moshirfar. He visited me while I was at INOVA Loudoun and I was lucky to get him. I had a herniation of L5/SI joint. At that point I couldn’t walk without excruciating pain. He told me up front he is conservative in care which I preferred. We tried a disectomy after epidurals didn’t work. It got me walking again but I hit a roadblock in recovery. We discussed options as at 53 I wasn’t willing to not be able to walk for long periods of time. He explained the fusion procedure and disc replacement. He did the surgery in May and at 4 months after surgery starting to train again. I cried when I was told I may never do a triathlon again. I know I will be at the starting line again in 2021. Thank you!

I highly recommend this practice, specifically Dr. Ali Moshirfar to anyone who is suffering from pain and looking for a doctor with a conservative approach. I was experiencing debilitating back pain and because I have an HMO the wait to see an orthopedic specialist was three weeks out. When the pain became unbearable I made a same day appointment with Dr. Moshirfar (thanks to their phenomenal office manager, Robin!) knowing I would have to pay out of pocket due to my insurance. While waiting for the MRI images, Dr. Moshirfar explained possible treatment options to me. Once he was able to review the MRI and it was clear I needed surgery, he immediately called the Orthopedic doctor at Kaiser and they accelerated my appointment to the following day. A week later I had surgery with Kaiser. If not for Dr. Moshirfar taking the time to go above and beyond by calling Kaiser etc. I would have still been waiting to be seen. Dr. Moshirfar really cares about his patients and I always recommend any of my friends, family or co-workers who are experiencing pain see him for an evaluation.

The entire office staff works in tandem with one another. The front desk staff is very polite, friendly and professional (especially Becky). And, Dr. Ali Moshifar has created one of the best practices in Loudoun County. If your children wish to be spellbound by an incredible display of mammal vertebre come in for a visit. They have Whale, Woolly Mammoth, Dinosaur, Snake and many more vertebre mounted on their lobby wall.

The full of office experience was wonderful. I felt completely safe with their COVIC-19 safety setup. The front office staff were very friendly and helpful. The app they have for seeing results, appointments and the ability to communicate any questions is great. April in scheduling was responsive, efficient and coordinated all insurance and hospital staff details. Most importantly Dr. Mark Shasti spent a lot of time during appointments allowing us to ask questions and was thorough in communicating all options and aspects of the procedure that was to take place. I have also appreciated his follow up after surgery. He even provide me with his mobile number in case I had any post surgery questions. Dr. Ali Moshifar also assisted in the surgery, which gave me even greater confidence. Both surgeons, at different times, stopped by my hospital room after the surgery to check in on me. Would highly recommend the Orthopaedic & Spine Surgery Institute and their entire team.

I saw Dr. Moshifar In 2009. He's very conservative and responded to my discomfort and concerns. Him and his staff showed an attentiveness that is refreshing. I again needed to see him again in 2011. The new office and staff are smaller (his Own practice more specialized) are even more accommodating. I very Highly recommend Dr. Moshifar, you can trust the personalized treatment plan he designs for you.
