- Preparation of patient for pre- and post-operative care
- Administration of medications through intravenous lines, gastric tubes, orally, by injection, or other methods
- Observation and recording of patient’s vital signs and immediately responding to changes in patient’s conditions
- Acting as a patient advocate; providing education and support to the patient and patient’s family while supporting a compassionate and therapeutic environment for critically ill patients
